checkYacht takes the protection of personal data seriously. Processing complies with the GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).

2. Purposes and legal basis

We process data to operate the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR - legitimate interest) and, with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), for audience measurement.

3. Affiliate links

Our search and partner links lead to our partner Click&Boat; tracking is handled via the affiliate platform impact.com (Impact Tech, Inc.). Only when you submit the search or click a partner link is data such as your IP address and browser information transmitted to impact.com or Click&Boat so the referral can be attributed to checkYacht and any commission assigned. After the redirect, the privacy policy of the respective platform applies.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies or local storage (e.g. to remember your cookie choice) and - only with your consent - Google Analytics cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

5. Google Analytics

With your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It records, for example, pages viewed, time on site, approximate location (country/city), device and browser information and clicks on partner links; Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Cookies (e.g. “_ga”) are set. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Data is deleted after 14 months at the latest. Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded. More: policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Contact form and email

If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process your name, email address and message to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Messages from the contact form are forwarded by our server by email to our mailbox; our email provider Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is involved as a processor. We keep enquiries only as long as needed to handle them and any follow-up questions.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, as well as a right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
